Swastik Gum Industries(India) is based at 67-B Maharaja Taogre Road in Dhakuria. If you know the Dhakuria area, you know it has its own specific feel, and our street is no different. The building we are in has been part of the neighborhood for quite some time. It is not a modern factory with glass walls, but a sturdy place where we make and store our gum products. There is often a faint smell of the materials we use hanging in the air, which we don't even notice anymore, though visitors usually mention it. Maharaja Taogre Road can be a bit cramped when delivery trucks are trying to get in and out. Inside, the space is divided into a small office area and the larger section where the actual industry stuff happens. We have a couple of old chairs for guests and a clock on the wall that sometimes runs a few minutes slow. We don't go in for fancy branding or trying to sound like a big corporation. We are just a group of people working at Swastik Gum, making sure the orders are filled and the quality is okay. Most of the staff have been here for years, so we all know how the machines sound when they are running right. It is a straightforward operation without any hidden layers. We show up, do the work on Maharaja Taogre Road, and go home when the shift ends. It is a rhythm we have kept up for a long time now.
