We are up on the second floor of the E Block at 9/12 Lalbazar Street. It’s an old Kolkata building with high ceilings and those heavy wooden doors that have been there forever. Sumit Technisch & Engineering is really just a group of us who enjoy the technical side of things. Our office is usually filled with blueprints, various mechanical parts, and probably too many empty coffee cups. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, so we always tell people to take their time. Lalbazar is a busy area, so there is always a lot of activity right outside our windows. It gets pretty humid in the afternoons, and the old ceiling fans just hum along while we work on our designs. We handle a lot of engineering queries and sometimes it gets a bit stressful when a deadline is close. We aren't big on corporate talk or fancy presentations. We prefer to just show the drawings and explain how a machine part is supposed to fit. Sometimes we get caught up talking about old projects for hours. It’s a quiet place compared to the street below, which is how we like it. We’ve been in this spot for quite a few years now and it’s basically become a second home for most of the staff. We just keep our heads down and get the work done properly.
