Our place is at 28/1 Haladhar Bardhan Lane. It’s a small lane, like many others in this part of town. Suan Scientific Instruments & Equipments is tucked away here. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re not looking for it. The lane is narrow, and sometimes the neighbors’ laundry is hanging out over the street. Inside, things are a bit more organized because we deal with scientific stuff. There are glass tubes, scales, and all sorts of delicate equipment. You have to be careful where you step. It’s a quiet contrast to the noise of the main road. The building is an old one, with high ceilings and thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the summer heat. We’ve got shelves piled high with boxes. Some of them have been there for ages. We aren't doing any big marketing or anything; we just provide the instruments people ask for. It’s mostly just us and a couple of people helping out with the packing and the deliveries. The light coming through the small windows is usually enough to see by during the day. We drink a lot of tea while we check the gauges and the calibrations. It’s a slow, careful kind of work. Haladhar Bardhan Lane has its own pace, and we’ve fit into it over the years. It’s just a regular local spot for scientific gear. We don't have many visitors, but when we do, they usually stay a while to talk.
