Our office is on the second floor of a building at 17 Ganesh Chandra Avenue. This part of Kolkata is always moving and the noise from the street never really stops. We work in the meat industry, mostly focusing on the supply chain and making sure things get to where they need to go. It is a lot of logistics and talking to people on the phone. The office is not very fancy. We have some old wooden desks and a few filing cabinets that have seen better days. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it is on high speed, but it helps during the hot months. We are right in the heart of the city, so getting here is easy enough if you do not mind the traffic. We spend most of our time tracking shipments and checking on the orders. It is a lot of paperwork and phone calls. We do not have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet people. If you come by, you just walk in and talk to whoever is not on a call. We eat our lunch together most days, usually something brought from home or bought from the stall around the corner. We are just a small group of people trying to keep the meat business running smoothly. It is not glamorous work, but it is what we do. We stay until the last order is cleared for the day.
