Hungry Tide

Our place is called Hungry Tide and we are located at 37 C, Hindustan Park. We are right near Heilen Cross Diagnostics if you are looking for a landmark. Gariahat is a very busy part of Kolkata, but Hindustan Park is a bit more tucked away. It’s quieter here. We have a small space where we do our work. It’s mostly just a couple of us in the back and one person handling the front. We don't have a big menu. We just make a few things and try to do them well every day. The building is an older one, so it has some character, maybe a few cracks in the plaster here and there. We didn't want to make it look like a corporate office. It feels more like a kitchen you would find in someone's house. We spend a lot of time cleaning up and getting the ingredients ready. Sometimes we run out of things early if it's a busy day. We don't have a big warehouse to store stuff. Everything is fresh from the local market. The neighbors are nice and they don't mind the noise too much. We try to be helpful to anyone who walks in. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just work at our own pace. Gariahat has so many big shops, but we are happy just being this small spot on the map.
