Bay Seafood Pvt. Ltd. is based out of Elque House, which is located at 10-Crooked Lane. The name of the street is pretty accurate; it’s a narrow, winding way that feels like it’s been there forever. Elque House is one of those older buildings with a lot of character, though the elevators can be a bit temperamental sometimes. Working in this part of the city means there’s always a lot of noise and people moving about right outside the door. Our office is where we handle all the back-end stuff for the seafood business. It’s full of ledgers, maps, and people talking on the phone to the ports. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find marble floors or designer furniture. We have simple desks and some old filing cabinets that have been with us since we started. The light in the office is okay during the morning, but we rely on the overhead tubes mostly. There’s a tea shop around the corner that we go to at least twice a day. It’s a busy, cramped sort of life in Crooked Lane, but it works for us. We’ve got our routine down, from opening the mail to checking the final shipments at the end of the day. It’s a solid building and a central spot, even if the lane is a bit hard to find the first time you visit. It's just where we do our business every single day.
