S.S. Exotics

Our little shop, S.S. Exotics, is located on the first floor of 91/2 Bakul Bagan Road. It’s a bit of an old building, but it has character. We spend our days surrounded by things you don’t usually see in the everyday markets around here. It’s a bit crowded in the rooms because we have so much stuff packed in, but we know where everything is. The stairs are a little steep, so we tell people to take their time coming up. We aren’t trying to be some fancy boutique. We just like what we sell and we’ve been doing it from this same spot for quite some time. The neighborhood is fairly active, and we get a lot of noise from the street, but it feels like home to us. We don’t do much advertising. Mostly, people find us by word of mouth or by just noticing our sign while walking down the road. Sometimes we get shipments that take forever to arrive, and we have to explain that to our regulars. It’s just part of the job. We keep a pot of tea going most of the afternoon. It’s a very hands-on type of business. We don't have a big management structure. It’s just a few of us making sure the exotic items are cared for and the customers get what they came for. We don't really have a big story, just a lot of work that needs doing every day.
