Srikanta Machine Tools

Srikanta Machine Tools is located in the Behala Industrial Estate, specifically at Plot No.-C/3 on Diamond Harbour Road. If you know the area, you know it’s a hub for all sorts of manufacturing. Our workshop is number 620. It’s full of the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of lathes running all day. We’ve got a lot of heavy equipment packed into the space, so you really have to watch your step when you walk in. My father started this place, and I’ve been working here since I was a teenager. We make and fix machine tools for other small factories around West Bengal. It’s dirty work, and your clothes always end up with oil stains, but there’s a lot of satisfaction in fixing a machine that was broken. We don't have a showroom or any place to sit down and have a fancy meeting. We usually just talk business standing on the shop floor near the machines. The industrial estate can be a bit chaotic, especially when the rains come and the drains get blocked, but we manage somehow. We aren't the biggest shop in Behala, but we’ve been here long enough that people trust us to do a decent job. It’s just regular work for regular people like us. We keep going as long as the orders keep coming in through the gate.
