So, we are located on J L Nehru Road, which is pretty much the middle of everything in Kolkata. Our office is up on the second floor, flat twenty-nine. It’s one of those older buildings where the walls are thick but the rooms can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of synthetic fabric samples lying around. There is always noise coming from the street because that’s just how J L Nehru Road is. You hear the buses and the people all day long. We spend most of our time dealing with different types of synthetic materials. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking the ledger. Sometimes the lift works, sometimes you take the stairs, it just depends on the day. The staff here is small, just a few of us trying to keep things organized. We have stacks of registers and samples of polyester and nylon everywhere. It’s not very organized to look at, but we know where everything is. Lunch is usually something quick from one of the stalls downstairs or something brought from home. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with meetings and fancy presentations. We just see what needs to be shipped and get it ready. It’s a lot of back and forth with the transporters. Being in the heart of the city helps because everything is close, but the traffic is a nightmare if you’re trying to move goods during the day.
