Our office for Sjrm Developers Llp is right here in Room 408 on the 4th floor of the Shantiniketan Building. 8 Camac Street is a busy place to be. We’ve been working out of this space for quite a while now. We mostly handle development projects, which means we spend a lot of time looking at land and talking to architects. It’s not always exciting work, but it’s what we know. There’s a lot of back-and-forth with the city and different contractors. Sometimes it feels like we spend more time waiting for things to happen than actually building, but that’s just the way development goes in West Bengal. We try to be realistic about what we can achieve. We don't have a big corporate mission statement or anything like that. We just want to finish our projects and make sure they’re done right. The office is a bit messy with rolls of paper and old coffee mugs, but it’s where we get things done. We’re a small team, so everyone has to do a bit of everything. One day we might be at a site in the mud, and the next we’re here in the city wearing a clean shirt for a meeting. It’s a varied life and we enjoy the challenge of it. We’ve built a lot of relationships in this city over the years, and we just try to keep things simple and honest. We keep our heads down and get it done.
