We are based up on the fourth floor of Paul Mansion, which is at 6 Bishop Lefroy Road. It is an old building with a lot of character, and we are tucked away in Suite No 19. Silver Leaf Tea Pvt Ltd has been operating out of this space for a while now. The office usually smells like dried leaves and old wood. It’s not a huge operation with hundreds of employees. Instead, it’s just a few of us sitting around desks, talking to growers and checking samples that come in from the gardens. We spend a lot of time looking at tea leaves and brewing small cups to see how the flavor turns out. It is quiet work for the most part, though things pick up during the harvest seasons when the samples start piling up on the tables. Being in this part of town means we are close to the heart of the tea trade, which makes sense for us. We don't have flashy signs or a showroom. If you come by, you’ll likely see piles of paperwork and small tin containers of tea everywhere. We just try to find the good stuff and make sure it gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the lift in the building is a bit slow, so we get some exercise on the stairs. It is a steady, slow-paced kind of business, and we like the routine of it all.
