You can find us at 189, Mahatma Gandhi Road, right in the thick of things on M G Road. We go by Shri Shyam Refrigeration, and most days you’ll find us surrounded by old fridge units and copper piping. The sidewalk outside is always busy with people walking past, so we have to be careful when we’re moving equipment in and out. It’s a bit of a dusty shop, but that’s because we’re always working on something that’s been sitting in a kitchen for ten years. We do a lot of gas refills and compressor swaps, so there are always cylinders standing in the corner. The noise from the traffic on MG Road never really stops, and it gets quite hot in the back room where we do the welding. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People usually just find us by walking in or through word of mouth from someone else in the neighborhood. We’ve been at this for a long time, and we know these machines inside out. Sometimes the shop feels too small for all the parts we keep in stock, but we manage to find what we need. It’s not a glamorous job, but keeping people’s food cold is a big part of the work around here. We just show up, do the repairs, and try to keep the customers happy without making things too complicated for anyone involved.
