Shankar Kumar Saha & Brothers

We’ve been here at Bidhan Sarani for a while now. It’s a busy spot, especially being up on the 3rd floor of Chanda Plaza in room 3C. Shankar Kumar Saha & Brothers is just a family thing really. We spend most of our days dealing with the paperwork and the usual day-to-day stuff that comes with running a business in this part of town. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on getting things done. There are a few of us here, brothers and cousins mostly, keeping the wheels turning. We don’t really go for fancy office decor or anything like that. Just some desks, old files, and a lot of tea. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough space for all the ledgers, but we make it work somehow. People come by to talk business or just to say hello, and that’s how the day goes. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, new shops coming and old ones closing down, but we’re still here in the same corner of the plaza. It’s not a big corporate setup, just us trying to keep the family name going and doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a climb to the third floor. But that’s just part of life here at 13-B. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, just a phone that rings too much and a lot of work to finish before the sun goes down.
