If you look for us, we’re located at 33 Sabujayan Abason in the Kabardanga area, specifically on M.G. Road here in Kolkata. Satkritah Construction Private Limited is a local outfit. We spend a lot of our time on-site, but the office in Sabujayan Abason is where the planning happens. It’s a residential-ish spot, so it’s a bit quieter than the main city center, which is nice when we have to go through blueprints or talk to the crew. Kolkata construction is never simple because of the weather and the narrow roads, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We started this because there was a lot of building happening around South Kolkata and we wanted to be part of that. There are usually a few of us in the office at any time, drinking tea and trying to keep the schedules straight. Sometimes the monsoon makes everything difficult, but we just push through. It’s not a big corporate setup. We know the neighbors and the local suppliers around Kabardanga. Dealing with cement and steel is a messy business, but someone has to do it. We mostly focus on residential stuff and small commercial bits. It’s a lot of back and forth between the office and the job sites. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes without making much of a fuss about it.
