Gouse Elahi Exports

Our place is tucked away at 17 B Sat Gachi 1St Lane, not too far from Bengal Services. It’s a narrow lane, so getting big trucks in and out can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We spend our days sorting through items and getting everything ready for export. There are boxes stacked nearly to the ceiling in some parts of the room. It feels a bit cramped when a new shipment arrives, but we manage to find space. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some calendars on the wall and a few old chairs. The fans stay on all day to keep the air moving. We mostly focus on the packing and making sure the labels are stuck on right. It’s a lot of manual work. My nephew helps out with the ledger on the weekends. We’ve been in this lane for quite a while, so we know all the neighbors and the guys who deliver the mail. Sometimes the rain floods the lane a little bit, and we have to put everything on wooden pallets to keep it dry. It’s not a corporate office with fancy carpets. It’s just a working space where we get things boxed up and sent out to wherever they are going. We take a break in the afternoon for some tea and a bit of a chat.
