Calcutta Export Company

Our office is at 18 R N Mukherjee Road. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of history. We’ve been based here for a long time, handling export goods. The building has those high ceilings and thick walls that you don't see in new constructions. We have a lot of crates and boxes coming in and out. It’s mostly paperwork and coordinating with the docks. We aren't a huge corporation, just a local company that knows the ropes of exporting. The street outside is always filled with taxis and people rushing around. We start our day early to get ahead of the mail. Most of our furniture is made of heavy wood and has been here for decades. We don’t really see the need to change things if they still work. Our staff knows most of the customs people and the drivers. It’s a business built on long-term relationships. We don’t have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. If you need to find us, we are right there on R N Mukherjee Road. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just wait it out or use the manual ledgers. It’s a very grounded way of working. We just do our best to get the goods where they need to go. It keeps us busy enough.
