Sarvajana Construction Llp is based out of the third floor at Rawdon Chambers on Sarojini Naidu Sarani. You’ll find us there most days, usually buried under a pile of papers and site drawings. Kolkata is a big, noisy city and being in the middle of it at 11A helps us stay close to the projects we’ve got going on. We started this because we knew how to build things and wanted to stay local. It isn’t always easy keeping everything organized from an office on the 3rd floor, especially when there’s a lot of material moving around at the sites. We handle the day-to-day stuff here, like talking to suppliers or checking the schedules. Most of the time, the team is out in the sun, getting their hands dirty with the actual building work. We don't really have a big staff of office workers. It’s mostly just us trying to keep the wheels turning. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our records and meet people who need something built. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years. Some days we’re running behind because of the traffic or the rain, but we try to stick to the plan. It's a tough business but we're used to it by now. We just focus on the task at hand and move on to the next one once it’s finished. That's pretty much how we spend our weeks.
