SARVADEVATMAN INFRA PROJECTS PRIVATE LIMITED has its home in Poddar Court. If you’ve ever been to Rabindra Sarani, you know how chaotic it can be. We are at Gate Number 2, up on the 6th floor in Room Number 23. The elevators in Poddar Court have seen better days, so sometimes there is a bit of a wait. Our office is tucked away in one of the corridors. It’s a classic Kolkata commercial building, full of energy and people everywhere. We work on infra projects, which means we spend a lot of time looking at site photos and talking to engineers. The room is a bit small for all the stuff we have in it, but we manage. You can hear the sounds of the 700001 area all day long. It’s a part of the city that never really stops moving. We’ve got a few desks pushed together and a corner where we keep the site equipment that isn't being used. Most of the staff are local and have been in this industry for decades. We don’t dress up in suits unless we absolutely have to. Usually, it’s just shirts and trousers, ready to head out to a project site at a moment’s notice. It’s a gritty, real business. We like the atmosphere of Poddar Court because it feels like we are right in the middle of everything. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where we get things done.
