If you’ve ever walked down Park Street, you probably know Poddar Point. We are located in the South Block on the 7th floor. Being at 113 Park Street means we’re right in the middle of everything in Kolkata. Sarphy Infrastructure Private Limited is basically a small team working on infrastructure stuff. It sounds like a big title, but really, we just spend our days looking at plans and making sure things are moving along. The office gets a bit cramped when everyone is in at once, but we make it work. Sometimes the elevators in this building take forever, so we’ve learned to be patient. We do a lot of our thinking and planning from here. Dealing with infrastructure isn't always easy, and there are plenty of hiccups along the way. We don't try to sugarcoat things. If a project is stuck, we just talk it out and try to find a solution that makes sense. It’s a practical way of working. Most of us have lived in Kolkata our whole lives, so we know the streets and the neighborhoods pretty well. Working in this part of town is nice because there’s always somewhere to grab a quick tea nearby. We don’t really do the whole corporate thing with fancy speeches. We just come in, do the work, and head home to our families. It’s a decent living and we’re happy to be doing it here. We just try to stay honest and keep our word.
