Samprit Developers Llp is tucked away in Poddar Court. We’re at Gate No 4 on the 6th floor, at 18 Rabindra Sarani. Poddar Court is one of those classic Kolkata buildings that’s like a maze once you get inside. You really have to know which elevator to take or you’ll end up on the wrong side of the building. Our office is pretty typical for this area. It’s functional and a bit crowded with all the files we have to keep. Being on the 6th floor means we’re away from the worst of the dust from the street, but you still hear the trams and the general hum of Rabindra Sarani. We spend our days coordinating with builders and trying to keep our projects on track. There’s a lot of shouting back and forth across the office because it’s easier than sending an email. We have a guy who brings us tea every few hours, which is basically what keeps the place running. It’s not a high-tech environment. We still use a lot of paper and keep physical logs of everything. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess, but it works for us. The team is a mix of people who have been here forever and a couple of younger ones trying to learn the ropes. We don't make things sound fancier than they are. We’re just a bunch of people working in a busy building in a busy city.
