Sakolrat Agro Products Private Limited

Our office is located on the third floor of a building at 11/A Dr. Suresh Sarkar Road in Kolkata. It’s a busy part of the city, and we are tucked away up there among other small businesses. We deal with agro products, mostly acting as a middle point for things coming from the rural areas into the city markets. It’s a lot of desk work, coordinating with suppliers and making sure the logistics don't fall apart. Being in the heart of Kolkata means we have to deal with the heat and the constant city noise. The office isn't very big, just enough space for our files and a couple of desks. We aren't some massive corporation with hundreds of employees. We are just a small team trying to keep the business running. Sometimes the elevator in the building doesn't work, so we have to climb the stairs, which isn't fun in the summer. We spend most of our time on the phone or on the computer trying to track shipments and payments. It can be stressful when things get delayed, which happens more often than we’d like. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just buy and sell agricultural goods and try to make sure everything gets to where it’s supposed to go. It’s practical, everyday work that keeps the food supply moving through the city.
