Ruby General Hospital

Ruby General Hospital is located right beside the EM Bypass at Kasba Golpark. It’s a very busy part of Kolkata. You can always hear the sound of horns and engines from the bypass. Our hospital is a big building. It has several floors. We have been here for a long time and many people know the name. It isn't a fancy place with art on the walls or expensive rugs. It’s a hospital through and through. The floors are hard and the lights are bright. We have a lot of different departments. There is always someone moving something on a trolley. The elevators are almost always full. We see people from all walks of life. Some come from the neighborhood in Kasba Golpark and others travel from further away. The emergency room is where most of the action happens. It never really sleeps. Our staff works in shifts that go all through the night. It’s a lot of pressure. We don't have a corporate office that tells us what to say. We are just local people working in a big hospital. The cafeteria serves simple food like dal and rice. It’s a place for families to sit for a minute while they wait. We try to keep things as organized as we can in such a busy environment. That is just how life is at Ruby General. We're just a hospital doing the daily grind.
