If you know Kolkata, you know Sudder Street is always moving. We are located at number 10, right in the thick of things where the travelers and locals all mix together. The building is older, like most things in this part of town, and it has that specific character you only find here. Inside the office, the phones are usually ringing with people asking about flights or trying to fix their travel dates. It isn’t a very big space, but we have enough room for the computers and the stacks of printed tickets. Sometimes it gets a bit loud outside with the taxis honking and the street vendors calling out, but we don't mind it much anymore. We have been doing this for a long time, so we’ve seen the street change quite a bit over the years. On rainy days, the water tends to collect near the entrance, and we have to be careful with our shoes. There’s a lot of paper work involved in air booking, even with everything being online now. We spend our hours staring at screens and talking to airlines to figure things out. It’s a straightforward job, really. We don’t have fancy decorations or a lounge for people to wait in. You just come in, tell us where you need to go, and we see what is available on the system. It’s practical and keeps us busy from morning until we close the doors for the night.
