Our office for Reliance Engineering Associates Ltd is over at 12A / 7, Verner Lane in the Belgharia area of Kolkata. It’s tucked away in a spot that feels very much like the rest of this part of the city—busy, a bit crowded, and full of life. D.C. Bose is the one who handles things here. Working in Kolkata has its own rhythm, and Verner Lane is no different. We spend the bulk of our day tucked away with our drawings and computers. The space isn’t very large, but it’s got everything we need to handle the engineering tasks that come our way. People often walk right past us because we don't have some big, glowing sign out front. We prefer it that way, honestly. It lets us get on with the calculations and the project management without too many distractions from the street. The building has been around for a while, and it has that old Kolkata feel to it. Sometimes we grab a tea from the stall nearby when we need a break from the technical work. Engineering takes a lot of mental energy, so those small breaks help us stay focused. We don’t go in for flashy talk or corporate slogans. We’re just here in Belgharia, doing the work we know how to do, day after day, and making sure the projects we handle stay on track. It's a bit dusty with all the old files on the shelves, but it's our place and it works.
