Ramchand & Sons

We’ve been here at 2, East Street for a long time now. Most people around here just know us as the place on the corner where you can find what you need without a lot of fuss. It gets pretty busy in the mornings when the sun is coming through the front window. There’s usually a stack of boxes near the door that we haven't quite gotten to yet. We spend most of the day just keeping things moving. It isn't a fancy place, but it's ours. Ramchand started this whole thing years ago and now we just keep the doors open and the shelves filled. Sometimes the floor creaks a bit when you walk toward the back, but that's just part of how the building is. We know most of the regulars by name and what they usually come in for. It’s mostly just us working here, trying to make sure everything is in its right spot. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. People just find us because we’ve always been right here on East Street. Some days are slow and we just sit by the counter talking about the weather or whatever else is happening in the neighborhood. Then suddenly five people walk in at once and it’s a scramble. It's a simple way to make a living and we don't plan on changing much. The sign outside is a bit faded but everyone knows what it says anyway.
