Rajpur Constructions is based at 1806 Laskarhat, over by Tagore Park. It’s a nice enough part of South Kolkata to work in. We aren’t a giant firm with hundreds of employees. We’re just a local construction outfit. The office is really just a place to store our files and meet up before heading out to whatever site we’re working on that day. Being near Tagore Park means we do a lot of work in the surrounding neighborhoods. People around here know us as the guys who are always around with a measuring tape or a level. We don’t go in for fancy logos or expensive advertising. Most people find us because they saw one of our projects or a neighbor told them about us. Construction is messy and loud, and there’s no way around that. We spend a lot of time dealing with the small details that most people don’t see until the building is done. It can be frustrating when materials don’t arrive on time, but that’s just part of the trade. We keep things pretty simple. If you need something built, we talk about the plan and the cost, and then we get to work. No big promises that we can’t keep. The humidity in Kolkata can be brutal on the workers, so we try to look out for them. It’s just a regular day-to-day business for us here at Laskarhat.
