Rai Mata Texo Fab Private Limited is located over at 131 Cotton Street, specifically on the 2nd floor of Gandhi Katra. If you know Kolkata, you know that Cotton Street is one of those places that never really sleeps. It’s always packed with people moving bundles of cloth and rickshaws trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes. Our office is right in the middle of all that action. Being on the 2nd floor of Gandhi Katra means we have to climb some stairs, but it gets us a little bit away from the chaos on the ground level. The building itself has been around for a long time. Inside, we have our desks and heaps of fabric samples. It’s a textile business, so there’s always something to measure or check. We aren't trying to be a fancy corporate office; we just want to get the orders out on time. The lighting isn't always the best and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s where we do our work. We spend our days talking to traders and making sure the texo fab side of things is moving along. It’s a lot of manual work and checking ledgers. Gandhi Katra is a hub for this kind of thing, so we feel right at home among the other traders. It’s a noisy, busy, and honest place to work every day. We just keep at it and hope the trucks show up.
