We are based at 14/ N Satish Chandra Ghosh Lane in Serampore, which is in the Hooghly district. Rabaj Export Pvt. Ltd. has been operating from this spot for a good while now. The lane itself is quite narrow and can get pretty crowded during the middle of the day with rickshaws and people moving about. Our office isn't anything fancy to look at, just a practical space where we handle all our export paperwork and logistics. We spend most of our mornings drinking tea and going through the shipping schedules for the week. It’s a lot of coordination with different agents and making sure the trucks can get in and out of the area without too much trouble. Serampore has a lot of history, and you can feel it in the old buildings around here. We have a small team of local people who know the business inside out. We don’t go in for big marketing campaigns or anything like that. We just focus on the work right in front of us. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days are a bit quieter, giving us time to catch up on the ledgers. The walls are a bit dusty and the desks have seen better days, but it’s a comfortable place to work. We like being part of the community here. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the lane every single day.
