Questqueen Builders is up on the 5th floor of 95A Park Street. If you know Kolkata, you know Park Street is a busy place with a lot going on. Being on the 5th floor gives us a bit of a break from the noise of the street, though you can still hear the horns honking all day long. We are a small LLP, which just means a few of us are in charge of the building projects. Building in a city like Kolkata is a challenge because everything is so crowded. You have to be careful with every inch of space. We spend our days looking at plans and then heading out to the actual sites to see how the work is progressing. It’s a lot of climbing stairs and talking to laborers. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist who ignores you. It’s just us in the office, usually with a lot of papers scattered across the desks. Park Street is a good central spot, even if parking is a nightmare for everyone. We don’t bother with promotional slogans. We just focus on the actual construction part of things. There’s always something that needs fixing or a new project starting up somewhere in the city. It keeps us busy. We try to keep our feet on the ground, even if our office is five floors up. It’s just a regular job for us, making sure things get built properly.
