You can find us at Plot No. C-57/D on East City Road in Dum Dum. We are right opposite the Kadam Gala Mandir, which is a big help when people are trying to find the shop for the first time. The sound of the bells from the temple is a constant background to our work. We deal with tractors and machinery, so things can get pretty greasy and loud. There’s always someone working on an engine or moving parts around in the back. The floor has a few oil stains that won't ever come out, but that's typical for a place like this. Farmers come in from quite far away sometimes and we spend a lot of time talking about the weather or how the crops are doing. It’s a busy road outside with a lot of trucks and buses passing by, so it never really feels quiet. We have a small area where people can sit while they wait, but most people prefer to stand around and watch the work being done. Our staff has been here for years and they know these machines inside out. We don’t bother with fancy uniforms or anything like that. We just wear what’s comfortable for getting dirty. It’s a straightforward business. We open early because that's when the customers start showing up and we usually stay until the last job is finished.
