Promit Construction Private Limited is based out of Behala. Our specific office is on the Ground Floor, in Room No. 1C117, right on Diamond Harbour Road. If you know that road, you know how noisy and crowded it gets with all the buses and people moving around. Being on the ground floor is actually pretty handy because we don’t have to climb any stairs with heavy boxes. We do building and construction work. It’s a small operation, really. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby with a fountain. It’s just a room where we keep our files and meet up to discuss the next job. Behala is a place where everyone seems to be fixing up their house or starting something new. We’ve been part of that for a while. It gets pretty dusty in the office because of all the traffic outside on Diamond Harbour Road, but we’re used to it by now. We usually have the fan going full blast while we look at blueprints. It’s just us trying to make a living and getting the work done right. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just show up, do the building, and go home to our families. Some days the phone doesn't stop ringing and other days it’s quiet enough to actually get the filing done. That is just how a small construction business goes in a city like Kolkata.
