Prolay Construction Private Limited is run from a place in Akandakeswari, Patharghata. The office is set up with Krishnadulal Naskar. If you haven’t been out to this part of North Parganas, it’s a bit different from the center of Kolkata. It’s a little more spread out, and things move at a slightly different pace. We focus on construction projects in the local area. It’s a lot of hands-on management. We don’t have a floor full of clerks or a fancy reception area. It’s mostly just us, some notebooks, and our mobile phones. We spend most of our time out on the roads or at the building sites. Patharghata is developing quite a bit lately, so we stay pretty active with various small and medium-sized jobs. We aren't interested in sounding like a big multinational company because we aren't one. We are just local people who know how to build things. Whether it's a house or a boundary wall, we just get it done. Dealing with the heat and the dust is part of every single day. We’ve got a good relationship with the local laborers and we know where to get the best materials around here. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever project is currently on our schedule. It is straightforward and we like it that way.
