Proffesor

Our base is located at block B-1/2 in the Purbasha Housing Estate, right at 160 Manicktala Main Road in Kolkata. Living and working in this city means you get used to the constant hum of traffic and the heat that never seems to go away. We go by the name Proffesor, but we aren’t a big institution. It is more of a small-scale operation run out of this residential flat. The rooms are a bit cramped because we have filled them with books, old computers, and boxes of files that we haven't quite found a permanent home for yet. The lighting in the hallway is a bit dim, and the elevator in the building can be temperamental, so we often just take the stairs instead. It is an honest place to work. We don't have any marketing brochures or a team of sales people trying to pitch things. Most of our day is spent at the desks, looking out at the other buildings in the estate or listening to the vendors shouting on the street below. We know the security guard by name and usually stop for a quick chat when we come in. It isn't a fancy office with glass partitions and air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. It is just a practical space where we can focus on our tasks without too much fuss. We like being part of the community here at Manicktala. It feels real.
