You can find Benco Engineering & Constrution Co. up on the 2nd floor of P-27 Princep Street. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more than we’d like. The office is tucked away, so you have to look for the sign near the entrance. We have been here for a good while. Inside, it's mostly maps, blueprints, and a lot of coffee cups. The space is a bit cramped because we keep all our old project files in boxes along the walls. It’s not a showroom; it’s a place where we actually work. Princep Street is always noisy, but once you get inside and up to the second floor, it gets a little quieter. Most of our guys are out on sites during the day, so the office is often just a couple of us handling the phones and the billing. We don't go in for anything flashy. The furniture is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. But it serves its purpose for us. We know the neighbors and the local tea stall guy knows exactly how we like our drinks. We aren't a giant corporation with thousands of employees. We are just a local group trying to do right by the projects we take on. It’s a lot of long hours and sometimes things get stressful, but that is the nature of the job. It feels like home after all these years at P-27.
