You can find us over at 15 1 1C Mayurbhanj Road in Kolkata. This part of the city, in the 700023 zip code, is always buzzing with some kind of activity or noise. Our building is one of those older ones that has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep to climb every morning and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We are right in the thick of it here. The street outside is usually full of rickshaws, trucks, and people heading to work, so there is always a background hum of the city while we are at our desks. We don't have a big corporate setup at all. It is more of a functional space where we keep our computers and a lot of paper files. Every morning starts with opening up the shutters and letting the dust settle before we get to it. We spend our hours going through the daily tasks, mostly just trying to stay on top of the heavy workload. There is a small shop nearby that makes really great tea, so we usually take turns going out to get some for the whole crew around four o'clock. It’s a very local way of working. We don't have any polished presentations or fancy meeting rooms with glass tables. Most of our meetings happen over a desk cluttered with files and coffee cups. It is practical and real.
