Our office is on the 3rd floor at Flat No 14 in the West Ananda Dhara Apartment, Block D. It’s located in the AA 5 Prafulla Kanan area of Kestopur in Kolkata. Working out of an apartment building gives things a much more personal touch than a cold office tower. Pricewaterhousecoopers is the name on the door, but inside it’s just a group of us working hard every day. Since we are on the 3rd floor, we get a bit of a breeze if we open the windows, though usually we just keep the AC running. The space is filled with computers, filing cabinets, and all the usual things you’d expect in a busy workplace. It’s not a perfect setup—the lift can be a bit slow and the hallway is a little narrow—but it works for what we need. We spend our time going through data and making sure all the records are in order. Most of us commute from different parts of the city, so the morning chat is usually about the traffic or the local news. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall; we just focus on getting through the tasks on our lists. There’s a kitchen where we eat our lunch and catch up on things. It is a very normal, practical environment. We are just real people trying to do a good job in Kestopur, keeping things organized and moving along.
