Our office is located at Flat No T 7 in Clusterviii PHE, right in the middle of Salt Lake City. It is a bit different because we are in a residential-style cluster, which makes the vibe a lot quieter than the main city center. Pricewaterhousecoopers has this spot on the map, and it feels more like a community than a cold business district. Getting here in the morning is usually okay if the buses are running on time. We spend most of our hours sitting at the long tables we’ve set up, typing away and checking documents. The light in the flat is actually pretty good during the afternoon. We have some plants on the windowsills that some of the staff try to keep alive, though they forget to water them sometimes. It is a very practical setup. We do not have a big reception desk or anything like that. If you come by, you just walk in and one of us will look up from our computer to help out. The kitchen area is small, but it fits the kettle and our lunch boxes just fine. Being in Salt Lake means it’s a bit greener around here, which is nice when you look out the window. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day and try to get home before the evening rush starts. It’s a simple, honest way to work in a busy city like Kolkata.
