You can find us at 49A Hari Ghosh Street in Kolkata. This is an older part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow and full of history. Our building is a bit old too, which gives it a certain kind of character you don't find in new places. We don't have a big lobby or a lift that works every single time. We just walk in and get straight to our desks. The rooms have high ceilings and they stay fairly cool even when it is very humid outside. We spend our hours going through records and typing up all the details for the company. Even though it is Price Waterhouse Coopers, it feels very local and tucked away here. We know the shopkeepers on the street and the people who live in the houses right next to us. Lunch is usually something we bring from home or a quick bite from a stall around the corner. The sound of the city is always there, from the bells of the rickshaws to people shouting greetings to each other. We have stacks of files in almost every corner because that is just how the work goes. It isn’t always the tidiest place, but we know exactly where everything is kept. When the power goes out, we just wait it out or use the backup. We are just a team trying to keep the books straight and the work moving.
