Our office for Pramshu Developers Private Limited is up on the second floor of 90 Phears Lane, in Room 205. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know it is always crowded and moving. We have been working from this room for a while, managing various development jobs. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s a decent enough place to work once you get inside. We have papers everywhere and the fans are always on high because of the heat. Most of our work involves planning out new buildings and making sure the sites have what they need to keep moving. It is a lot of back-and-forth with different people and agencies. Sometimes it feels like we are just moving piles of paper from one side of the desk to the other, but it all adds up to getting things built in the city. We don’t have any polished slogans or anything like that. We just show up and do the work that needs doing. The street outside is full of shops and people, which keeps things interesting when we look out the window for a break. Dealing with development in a city like this is never simple, but we manage somehow. We aren’t a giant corporation, just a local team in a small office trying to keep our projects moving forward. Every day brings a new set of problems to solve, and we just handle them one by one. That is pretty much the whole story for us.
