Practicing Law In Calcutta High Court

My office is over at 96 4 Block B in Bangur Avenue, which is where I handle my legal work when I am not at the Calcutta High Court. Bangur Avenue is a decent area of Kolkata, and it is where I have set up my home office. Most of my mornings are spent traveling down to the court buildings to handle hearings or file petitions. When I get back in the afternoon, I spend the rest of my time here at the desk going over case files and preparing for the next day. It is a lot of reading and writing. The room is full of law books that I have collected over many years. Kolkata is a city that loves its paperwork, and the legal profession is no different. I deal with all sorts of cases, and people from the neighborhood often stop by to ask for advice. It is not a polished corporate law firm with glass walls. It is a traditional setup with wooden desks and paper everywhere. Sometimes the ceiling fan is the only sound you hear while I am working. I have been practicing law for a while now, and this address has been my base for much of it. The commute to the High Court can be long depending on the traffic, but I like coming back to the quiet of Bangur Avenue to actually think and prepare my arguments. It is just how I work.
