Our office is tucked away in 201/A Block-B on Bangur Avenue in Kolkata. It’s a typical Kolkata street, always a bit of life happening outside our windows. Inside, it’s a lot of paperwork and boxes of handicrafts waiting to be sent out. We have been here for a good few years now. The space is a bit tight because we have so much stock coming in and out, so you have to watch where you step. We are a limited company, but it doesn't feel like a big corporate office at all. It’s more like a group of people who have known each other forever sitting around desks that have seen better days. The postcode is 700055 and the fans are almost always on because the Kolkata humidity is no joke. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and making sure the shipments are moving. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble finding the exact spot on Bangur Avenue, so we end up standing out on the street to wave them down. It’s a lot of practical, day-to-day work that keeps us busy from morning till evening. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything, just a small area where we keep the records and the computer. It’s a functional place where we get things done without making too much of a fuss about it.
