Poddar Earth Movers

Poddar Earth Movers is over at Plot No. 1/1/1B on Gopal Chatterjee Road. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there is always a lot of heavy machinery noise around. Our plot is basically a yard where we keep things parked and a small building for the office side of things. It’s not the kind of place you’d go for a fancy meeting, but it works for what we do. We spend most of our time coordinating where things need to go and checking the condition of the machines. The ground gets pretty muddy when it rains, so we all wear boots most of the time. Gopal Chatterjee Road can be a bit of a crawl with traffic, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been here long enough that the neighbors all know us. There’s no big marketing strategy here. We just show up, do the work, and go home. Most of the guys have been with us for years, so we don't have to explain much to each other anymore. We keep our logs in big binders and try to keep the yard as organized as possible, though it’s a constant battle with all the gear. It’s a loud, busy, and honest way to make a living. We just focus on the machines and the schedules and let everything else take care of itself. That’s life here at the plot, and we wouldn't have it any other way really. It’s just how things go for us.
