Perot Systems

We are tucked away in a small lane called Rani Shankari Lane in the Kalighat area of Kolkata. Perot Systems is in building number 12. If you know this part of the city, you know how narrow the lanes can get, especially when the rickshaws and pedestrians are all trying to pass at once. The office has that old Kolkata feel to it, with thick walls and high ceilings that keep things a bit cooler than the modern glass buildings. We have been here for years, and the neighborhood has changed quite a bit around us. There is a lot of history in these streets. Inside, we just have our regular workspace. It’s not very modern looking, but we have everything we need to do our jobs. The monsoon season is always interesting because the rain comes down so hard on the old roof. We usually have the tea man come by twice a day, which is something everyone looks forward to. The desks are pushed up against the walls to make as much room as possible. It can get a bit crowded when everyone is in at the same time, but we manage. We don't have a big sign outside, just the address on the door. People usually find us by word of mouth or by looking for the landmarks nearby. It’s a simple way of working, but it has served us well for a long time.
