Padmadham Handloom Llp

We’re located way up on the 14th floor of Om Tower, which is at 32 Chowringhee Road. Being in Suit No. 1407 gives us a pretty good view of that part of Kolkata, though we’re usually too busy to look out the window much. Padmadham Handloom is our little corner of the world. We focus on handloom work, which is a bit different from the fast-paced life you see down on the street below. Up here, it’s a bit quieter, which is good for looking at fabrics and discussing designs. We aren't a huge outfit. It’s just a few of us making sure everything runs the way it should. We don't have any big corporate goals or fancy mission statements on the wall. We just like the feel of real handloom products and want to keep that going. Dealing with Chowringhee traffic to get to the office every morning is the hardest part of the day. Once we’re inside, it’s all about the work. We handle the business side of the handlooms here, coordinating with weavers and making sure orders get to where they need to go. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking stock. Sometimes we get things wrong and have to fix them, but we always try to be straight with people. It’s just us, working in an office in an old tower, trying to keep a traditional craft alive in a modern city.
