P H E is based out of Murshidabad in West Bengal. Our address is 27/57 on Joychand Road, which is in the Khagra area. If you’ve ever been to this part of Bengal, you know it has a lot of history and the streets can be quite narrow and busy. We operate from a small office here. Our days are mostly filled with managing public health engineering tasks, which sounds more complicated than it is when you’re actually doing it. It’s mostly just paperwork and coordination. The weather can be very humid here, especially during the monsoon, so we spend a lot of time making sure our records stay dry. We’ve been at this Joychand Road location for a good while now. We don't have a big team, just a few local people who know the area well. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just a job like any other. We come in, check the mail at the P.O. Khagra, and see what needs to be finished. It’s a simple setup. There are no fancy signs or expensive furniture in our place. We just have what we need to get through the day's work. It’s a bit old-fashioned maybe, but it works for us and the people in Murshidabad that we deal with on a regular basis. We just try to keep things moving along without making any kind of big fuss about it every morning.
