Owns

My business is called Owns, and I’ve got this place at 47B Bondel Road. It’s right in Ballygunge, which is a part of Kolkata I’ve always liked. The building is an older one, and the walls are thick, which is good for the summer heat. I don’t call this a big company or anything, it’s just my business. I handle whatever comes through the door. Usually, that’s just me and maybe one other person helping out with the chores. The street outside is always noisy with taxis and people walking to the market. I’ve lived in Kolkata my whole life, so the humidity doesn't bother me much anymore. Inside, I’ve got my books, a computer, and a lot of pens that always seem to run out of ink when I need them. It’s not a showroom. It’s just a place where work happens. I spend a lot of time on the phone or just thinking about what needs to be done next. The tea stall around the corner is where I get my morning fix every day. I like the independence of having my own spot. I don't have to answer to a board of directors or anything like that. If the roof leaks, I fix it. If the floor is dirty, I sweep it up myself. It’s a simple life. People know the address and they know I’m usually here from ten till six in the evening. It’s just how it is. It works for me and my family.
