Ostrich Publication Pvt Ltd is located over on B B T Road in the Chawkmir North Sardarpara area of Kolkata. Being in West Bengal, we deal with a lot of local stuff, and the humidity usually gets to us during the long summers. Our office is filled with paper, stacks of books, and the smell of ink most of the time. It is a bit of a mess if we are being honest, but we know where everything is kept. We handle a lot of different publishing tasks. It is not always glamorous work. There is a lot of checking for small mistakes and making sure the printers are running right. Sometimes the machines act up or the deliveries are late, but that is just part of the publishing life in a busy city like this one. Our staff is mostly people from the nearby neighborhoods who have been with us for years. We do not really do big advertisements for ourselves. Most of our work comes from people just knowing we are here on the road. We take our tea breaks seriously around here, usually standing outside for a few minutes to catch a little breeze. It is a practical business. We produce what is needed and try to make sure it looks okay before it goes out. Kolkata has a long history with books, and we are just a small piece of that tradition.
