Our place is at 9/3/A Rajendra Nath Roy Chowdhry Lane. Orka Infra Systems Private Limited operates out of this little corner of the city. If you’ve ever tried to navigate the smaller lanes in Kolkata, you know it can be a bit of a puzzle to find us the first time. The office is nothing special, just a room where we keep our equipment and our records. We work on infra systems, which basically means we spend our time thinking about how things like water and power and roads actually fit together. It’s a lot of technical work, but we try to keep the business side of it pretty simple. We don't have a big staff. It's just a few of us who know the area and know how to get things done. Some mornings the lane is quiet, and other times it’s a complete mess of bikes and delivery vans. We usually start the day with a quick talk about what needs to happen by five o'clock. We don't have any polished brochures or fancy websites. We just have our reputation and the work we’ve already finished around the city. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes things go wrong, like a permit getting delayed or a machine breaking down. We just deal with it as it comes and try to stay honest about what we can do. It's just a regular local business life for us here.
