Down here at 877 Kumrakhali, things are usually pretty busy with the rubber production. We are located near the Narendrapur post office, so getting mail is easy enough but the trucks sometimes struggle with the narrow turns. It is a hot job, honestly. Melting and molding rubber is not something you do in a suit. Most of the guys here have been working these machines for years. We have some old presses that still work better than the newer ones we bought last year. The yard is usually full of raw material waiting to be processed. Sometimes the smell of the heating rubber gets a bit strong, but you stop noticing it after an hour. We are not a massive corporation, just a private limited setup trying to keep the orders moving. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, just some bricks and metal roofing, but it stays dry inside. We spend a lot of time checking the molds to make sure they are clean. If a speck of dirt gets in there, the whole batch can be ruined. It is a lot of standing around and watching gauges. When the shift ends, we usually just want to get some air. Narendrapur is a quiet enough place once you get away from the industrial spots. We don’t do much advertising because most people find us through word of mouth or by just seeing the sign on the road. We get a lot of locals working here, some walk from the village and others take the bus.
