Our office is located at 28 1A Sahitya Parishad Street in Kolkata. It’s a classic old street in a part of the city that has seen a lot of history. The postcode is 700 006 if you’re trying to find us on a map. We have been working out of this space for a long time. The building has high ceilings and the walls are thick. It stays relatively cool even when the Kolkata heat gets intense outside. We handle various professional matters here. It’s not a modern glass building like the ones you see in the new parts of town. We have old wooden desks and shelves full of files. The sound of the street comes through the windows—horns honking and people talking. We like it that way. It feels real. Most of our visitors are people we’ve known for years. We make time for a chat and a cup of tea before getting down to business. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure everything gets done properly. We don’t have a website with fancy graphics. We just answer the phone and talk to whoever walks through the door. The neighborhood is full of small shops and little alleys. It's a busy place but we've found our rhythm here on Sahitya Parishad Street. We usually head home once the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
